Description
Short story behind the cake: it was supposed to be kinda lame and ugly so that no one would expect it to look awesome on the inside. Where cakes can take me hours to decorate, this one took ten minutes. It was awesome!
I love the inside. So happy with how it came out.
This was for my coworkers' boss, for his 24th birthday! She made him a "Candy Mountain" so we were going with the whole Charlie theme.
edit: Because I get a billion "ZOMG HOW IS IT RAINBOW?!" comments, I'm putting this here instead of copy and pasting it as a response to everyone.
It's a long process, but it's so worth it in the end. You divide up your batter into many seperate bowls and tint each one a different colour. Then you pour one into your cake pan, bake for about 7 minutes, take it out, let it cool a tiny bit, pour the next one in and smooth it around, bake 7 minutes, cool slightly, next layer, etc. etc. etc. In the end, if any of it's still gooey just bake it for another minute or so at a time. Due to all the taking it in and out of the oven, it doesn't have much of a chance to rise, so it makes a fairly dense cake... but still yummy!
