Let's go exploring! Me (as Hobbes) and my boyfriend (as Calvin), Halloween 2011.
Calvin's t-shirt started out red, we painted the stripes on. We bought the wig because 1) we ran out of time to make one and 2) we couldn't figure out how to make one, haha.
Hobbes is completely from scratch, the head was built over a plastic canvas base. The base was covered in foam and the fabric was pieced over it. I made feet out of canvas sneakers covered in foam and fabric, and the suit was from a pajama pattern with the addition of a tail, stripes, and the belly piece. I also modified the pattern so that the torso ran long and the legs ran short, to make the appearance of Hobbes' short legs.
We had a ton of fun taking pictures out at a conservation area in town... (photo credit to my wonderful coworker, Sammy!) can't wait for Halloween next year, when we get to try to top this one!
